Westside River Rendezvous

Westside River Rendezvous

Join West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, the Proctor Creek Stewardship Council, West Atlanta community members, and volunteers in collecting water samples throughout West Atlanta neighborhoods to get a one-day “snapshot” of water quality at designated locations in the Proctor, Utoy, and Sandy Creek Watersheds.  The Westside River Rendezvous, our annual community-wide water sampling event is Back 2020 style! A safe, socially distant event will get people out to streams to collect and understand water quality across West Atlanta.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, we require that you come with your own family, trusted friends or other group POD already assembled and in the same vehicle.

We'll gather at the Grove Park Recreation Center Parking Lot, located at 750 Francis Place, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 to get supplies and instructions on how to safely collect water samples, then we’ll set out across West Atlanta to sample streams and bring water samples back to contactless drop-off stations at our meet up spot back at Grove Park. Then, check-in with us later in the day at 4 PM via Zoom as we meet up to huddle with other participants as we begin to learn the results of our water tests. A link will be sent to all registrants closer to the event.

No previous water quality monitoring experience is necessary!

Dress for the weather -- we'll have a good time, rain or shine. All ages are welcome!
